The Softness of the Heart in Light of Islam
In our lives, we put immense effort into our outward appearance—our clothing, our speech, and the way we present ourselves. We memorize grand words, refine our expressions, and polish our external image. But how often do we focus on purifying our hearts? The reality is that without a pure heart, our external efforts are meaningless in the sight of ALLAH ﷻ. Imagine a glass with just a little impurity. Even if it is cleaned, people may hesitate to drink from it because they have seen the impurity before. Likewise, if the heart is filled with filth—hatred, jealousy, envy, or arrogance—how can the love of ALLAH ﷻ reside in it? How can a person with such a heart attain closeness to ALLAH ﷻ?
